The autumn 2023 Tursajaiset (Octoment in English!) will be held on Wednesday 20.9.2023 from 4pm to 9pm.

Event
Tursajaiset is a traditional event for first-year technology students with roots dating back several decades. The idea is to roam the bars located in the Helsinki Central Area in small groups and perform small checkpoint tasks. The event attracts hundreds of students each year and is targeted to all students who have just started their tech studies at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences. Nowadays there are participants of every studyfield and multiple classes.

The event is organized by Helsingin Tekniikan Opiskelijat, more commonly known as HTO ry, and is organized twice a year: in the spring and in the autumn. The idea behind the race is to navigate to the checkpoint with a clue given at the starting location and complete a small task. The performance will be judged by the checkpoint personnel and the points gathered will play a factor in the selection of the winner, which will be announced at the after party. The race ends with the final checkpoint, where there is still an opportunity to improve the total score by various means.
